Pepper Mutton Fry

  • 1 kg. Mutton
  • 2 tbsp ginger sliced
  • 1 tbsp garlic crushed
  • 2 tbsp pepper powder (fresh)
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 3 chillies slit
  • 2 onion finely sliced
  • 2 twigs curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste


  1. Marinate the mutton with coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, ginger, garlic and salt  for half an hour.
  2. Pressure cook this marinated mutton for 20 to 30 mins or until soft with just enough water.
  3. In another pan heat oil. Add  onion, green chillies and curry leaves and saute until golden brown.
  4.  Then add the cooked mutton and saute till dry and dark brown. Finally add the garam masala and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve with chapathi or rice.
